The Apprenticeship Grant for Employers – can you receive funding to take on an Apprentice?

Support for 16 to 24 year olds is aimed at helping eligible employers to offer young people employment through the Apprenticeship programme, by providing wage grants to assist employers in recruiting their first Apprentice.
The National Apprenticeship Service will provide up to 40,000 Apprenticeship grants of £1,500 to small-medium sized employers recruiting 16 to 24 year olds, to encourage new employers to take on new Apprentices.
This grant is available from 1 February 2012 until March 2013 for eligible employers. Priority will be given to small-medium sized employers with less than 250 employees who recruit a 16 to 24 year old apprentice for the first time.
To find out if your business is eligible for this grant and how Craven College can help you recruit an Apprentice, contact Work Based Learning on 01756 693681 or email apprenticeships@craven-college.ac.uk
